Valencia CF paid homage to longstanding season-ticket holders with more than 50 years of seniority. Mestalla was the setting for one of the most emotional events in the Valencia CF schedule: the recognition of members who have been season ticket holders for more than 50 years without interruption.
"Welcome to your home which is Mestalla. You have shown unconditional love for this Club and now it is time for Valencia CF to thank you. For me, this is one of the most heartfelt events. Your happy faces and those of your families are testimony to your loyalty to this crest and these colours. For more than 50 years you have been the heart of our team, in victory and defeat. Today, we remember that football is more than a sport, it is a family united by a shared passion. Today, we remember that football is more than a sport, it is a family united by a shared passion. Congratulations and Amunt Valencia CF" said Valencia CF president Layhoon Chan.
The event was presided over by the president of Valencia CF, Layhoon Chan, and the Club's corporate director, Javier Solís. Also in attendance were ambassadors Ricardo Arias, Miguel Tendillo and Miguel Ángel Bossio; more Valencia CF legends such as Guillot, Vidagany, Salva Revert, Rubén Ciraolo and José Manuel Sempere; and the president of the Valencia CF Footballers' Association, Fernando Giner.
"I am 84 years old. I have been coming here to Mestalla all my life. I've been enjoying the event, Sempere has given me the insignia and I've remembered many things about him. It was simply to enjoy that moment. Valencia CF is a sentiment," described Ricardo Perelló, a season ticket holder with more than 50 years of uninterrupted seniority.
The 94 attendees present received an insignia for their loyalty and sentiment for their club Valencia CF.
